UW Architecture / Landscape Architecture Student Orientation / Charrette Saturday September 22, 2018

The UW Architecture Professionals Advisory Council/PAC, in partnership with the UW Landscape Architecture PAC, hosts an event to orient newly-arrived undergrad and graduate Architecture & Landscape Architecture students to the UW campus as well as to the design process; to connect PACs with students and one another; and to share enthusiasm, conversation, and good times with those who aim to join the design professions.

· WHEN? Saturday September 22, 2018 9am-2pm (breakfast, coffee, & lunch provided)

· WHERE? 8:30am (students arrive 9am) at Gould 236/240; activities in Gould Court culminate in presentations.

· WHO? PAC members & others serve as “Guides/Resources” to students who embark on this design challenge.

· WHAT? Watch for problem statement for the student teams, each with an assigned Guide/Resource. The students will do the thinking, designing, presenting; Guides/Resources/Mentors will excite them, answer questions, and support them in meeting the challenge.

· SUPPLIES/TOOLKIT: 2 rolls of trace, 5 black sharpies, 3 gluesticks, 2 pairs of scissors, drafting tape, clear tape, tacks, pencil sharpener (optional), recycled drawing sheets (optional) for use as backing/butcher paper
