Changing Lives Impact Report

This is an impact research on Gateshead Young Women's Outreach Project which involved staff, stakeholders and participants of the Young Women Project .

The key purpose of the research is to identify the influence of methods used by Gateshead Young Women's Project in relation to Young Women and their families, professional stakeholders and local and national policy.

This impact evaluation was carried out by Gaynor Clarke, who has been involved in a range of roles with the Young Women's Project since its inception.

My Story

Thanks for reading our stories. We are a group of young mothers and pregnant young women from Gateshead, and we have made this booklet to help other young women in the same situation, so they will realise that we all have similar thoughts and feelings.

We were given some money to improve our writing skills. Eight of us planned, organised and went on a residential with two youth and community learning workers and a Surestart midwife. We did a mixture of things, including thinking, writing, crafts, exercise (on land and in water) and baby massage.

We hope you enjoy reading this as much as we enjoyed writing it.

Best wishes in your pregnancy.
