This trail connects the Astronomy Center to Sand Cave Trail, running parallel to State Park Road. This connecting trail passes through grassland and the edge of a white pine plantation (0.5 miles).

10=Walking on an unmarked trail up a bluff, covered with leaves, poison ivy, tree roots, and boulders the size of a house.

Parking: Small parking lot at the former park office or Huser Observatory lot.

Description:

Walnut Springs Trail is provided so that walkers (and bicycle riders) will not have to walk along the road. It is relatively level. Enjoy the walk as it transitions from meadows, through a pine plantation, and into a hardwood forest.
