Kendall Waters

Kendall Waters (she/her/hers), from Crozier, Virginia, is a fifth-year senior working toward a Bachelor of Music degree with concentrations in piano performance and composition and a minor in Jazz Studies at James Madison University (JMU). Kendall is an active researcher; besides her editorial work with JURM, Kendall has published her research on semiotics in the music of Billy Joel in the James Madison Undergraduate Research Journal and is spending the summer of 2021 interning with the Smithsonian Jazz Program at the National Museum of American History. Interdisciplinary studies in music and topics in Spanish and Latin music are of special interest to her. In addition to researching, Kendall spends her time furthering her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, writing with the JMU Word is Born Writer’s Society, and exploring nearby attractions like Richmond’s West Cary Street and downtown Harrisonburg and far away destinations like the slopes of Park City, Utah and the hustle and bustle of NYC.
