edit360

What is edit360 (former Theta Converter)?

edit360 (former Theta Converter) is an Android/iOS app enables you to edit your 360 photos.

Although this app is originally developed for RICOH THETA, now it can be applied to any 360 photos as well.

What's the difference from official app?

2. Send it to this app via share menu (normally the icon with connected 3 dots)

3. Image is *automatically leveled based on exif data. (*automatic leveling = RICOH THETA only)

How to use (Android - Advanced mode)

Unlock advanced mode first. Click the wrench icon at bottom right, then turn on advanced mode. Quit the app, and re-launch. Now you can see following 5 advanced modes.

Normal mode

Same as normal leveling in basic mode, but you can also handle multiple images sequentially.

Auto mode

Exactly same with auto batch processing in basic mode.

Anchor mode

You can level the first image only. Then exactly the same leveling parameter is applied to all remaining images. This is for advanced users (e.g. HDR image stacking, or time-lapse).

Object removal mode

This is a useful feature for real-estate purpose. By comparing 3 images, app detects moving objects and remove them automatically. This mode is only available if you send 3 images at once.

Orthogonal decomp. mode

If you are frustrated by annoying seam after editing 360 images (e.g. HDR effect), or want to remove tripod at the bottom easily, this mode is for you.

This mode exports (decompose) two images at the end. One looks normal 360 image, and the other one is oddly 90 degree rotated (bottom comes to front). Edit these two images by external image editor (e.g. snapseed, adobe photoshop express), then go to orthogonal comp. mode.

Orthogonal comp. mode

This is the mode just to merge back (composite) decomposed two images. After editing with external image editor, share those edited two images to this app and apply this mode. Then you won't see either seam or tripod any more.

Following examples may explain orthogonal mode better.

It depends on your device, but let me note that 10000x5000 was successfully processed on Alcatel idol4 (snapdragon410 + 1.5GB RAM).

Q: Nothing happens to my image. It looks same.

It's saved in ./Pictures/ folder as a new image. The app doesn't modify the original image.
