What is HDR-DNG mode?

It captures bracketed images and stacks them into single DNG file. This DNG file is a totally new format defined in DNG v1.4, which can store high dynamic range data quite efficiently. Downside is few software support it and may not fit to your workflow, but at least adobe products support it perfectly.

Why HDR-DNG generates two DNG files?

_HDR.DNG is the stacked image, and .DNG is the base image (0 EV). You may need to blend them to fix if any issue happened.

HDR-DNG image is very underexposed

Set exposure to higher value until it looks good. For instance, HDR-DNG 9 looks good at +5EV in adobe lightroom.

Everything looks pink in HDR-DNG image

That means your OS / software cannot decode HDR-DNG properly. It must support DNG v1.4.
