Motion Array Review 2024: Everything You Need To Know About All-In-One Platform For Video Creators

Motion Array Review

Motion Array is a subscription-based, one-stop-shop for all video production needs. For $250/y or 30/m members get unlimited downloads of over 700K assets: videos, motion graphics, photos, royalty-free music, sound effects, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro templates and presets, Premiere Pro plugins, and more.

Motion Array Pricing: How Much Does It Cost?

Motion Array is one of the most affordable digital asset subscription services. For just $29,99 a month or 249,99 a year (which comes down to around $20 per month) you can get unlimited access to all assets in the library and several video creator's tools, plus exclusive plugins and 250GB of storage space. That's much less than you would pay for a single HD video file on some stock footage websites. I love that Motion Array keeps its prices low because it allows all kinds of video creators, even the ones who have a tight budget or just starting their business, to create professional content.

How Can I Download Motion Array For Free?

Motion Array doesn't have a free trial and you have to pay for a monthly or annual subscription to get access to the whole library. However, if you are not ready to purchase a Motion Array subscription yet, you can sign up for a free plan first (it doesn't even require a credit card). You will be able to download as many free assets from the library as you'd like. To find which assets are free, go to Motion Array marketplace and select the "Free assets" checkbox.

The free plan also includes access to the shifter plugin, 1GB of review and upload storage and 1 month free trial of both the Video Review tool and Portfolio Site Builder. Will this plan, you will be able to download free Motion Array templates, as well.

Of course, there are not as many free assets available. So if at any time you decide to download a paid product, you can upgrade to a paid membership (you can downgrade back to the free plan whenever you want).

Can I Use Motion Array For My Clients?

If you purchase a Motion Array subscription, you will be able to download and use any of the assets, from both paid and free categories for your personal and commercial projects. So the answer is yes, you can use it for your clients. There are some videos and images in the library that are labeled “For Editorial Use Only”, and you can use them only in non-commercial productions, but the majority of assets are royalty-free and can be used in commercial projects. You don't have to credit Motion Array when you use their assets.

What Happens When You Cancel Motion Array?

If you decide to cancel your Motion Array subscription, then you won't be able to download any new assets or create new projects using the assets that you have downloaded before. However, all the projects you created while your subscription was active, will be covered forever.

If you want to cancel your account, you can downgrade it to a free one instead. This way you will be able to download free assets if you want, and if needed, upgrade your account to a paid one. To do that, go to My Account, select Manage Subscription and click the Downgrade To Free button.

Motion Array Plugins

One thing I absolutely love about Motion Array is their Premiere Pro plugins that are included in the subscription. It allows me to enhance my videos with effects and transitions to make them look even better. There are also free plugins available. If you have never used Premiere Pro plugins before, but want to make your videos stand out, you can find tutorials on how to install plugins in the Learn section on the Motion Array website.

Does Motion Array Have Unlimited Downloads?

Yes, Motion Array members can download as many assets as they want and use them in as many projects as they need. However, a subscription only covers one user, and Motion Array doesn't allow automatic downloading tools.

Does Motion Array Have Music And Sound Effects?

Motion Array has a large library of music and sound effects, everything is included in the subscription. However, if you are interested only in music and SFX, then I recommend checking out Artlist because it has the best selection of royalty-free music.

Motion Array Competitors

The demand for stock footage has been increasing each year and caused a surge in websites that sell digital assets. This can be both a good and a bad thing. Because of the competition, the subscriptions are much more affordable now than they used to be, but as the prices went down, so did the quality. Luckily, there are still several good platforms that I like and use.

Is Motion Array The Best Stock Video Subscription?

I like Motion Array a lot and I think that it's definitely one of the best stock video subscription websites right now. Is it the best one though? I don't have a definite answer to this question because that depends on what you are looking for. There are platforms that have bigger libraries - like Storyblocks - but they are more expensive, there are the ones that have a better quality stock footage - like Artgrid - but they lack a variety of assets, and there are cheaper ones - like Envato Elements - but they have lower-quality assets. Overall, I think that Motion Array is a great site, and if you are looking for an affordable all-in-one platform for video creation, then it is a good choice. But let's take a look at other popular subscription services and see how they compare with Motion Array.

Motion Array vs. Storyblocks

In my opinion, Storyblocks is the main competitor of Motion Array. It is one of the most popular websites for stock footage that has an impressive library of over 1,5 million assets, including video, audio, photos, motion backgrounds, and templates. Storyblocks members also have free access to an online video editor called Maker, which is a nice bonus. I've been a member of Storyblocks for many years and have only good things to say about it. However, ever since I signed up for a Motion Array subscription, I've been using both platforms for my projects, and each has its own perks. Motion Array is obviously much cheaper ($20 vs. $30 per month with a purchase of an annual subscription), but the library is almost twice as small. It does, however, have a bigger variety of assets and a big catalog of Premiere Pro plugins which is a dealbreaker for many creators, plus two good and easy-to-use video tools -  Portfolio Site Builder and Video Review.

Motion Array vs. Envato Elements

Another alternative to Motion Array is Envato Elements. They are very similar platforms, but if you asked me which is better Motion Array or Envato Elements, I would say Motion Array. Envato Elements has a cheaper annual subscription ($198 per year), but if you opt for a monthly membership that it will cost you more than Motion Array ($29,99 vs. $33 per month). Envato Elements has a bigger library, but I find Motion Array to have better quality, wider variety, and easier licensing.

Motion Array vs. Argrid

Artgrid is a stock footage service owned by the same media licensing company that owns Motion Array - Artlist. I love the quality of the footage, it is much better than most sites offer and comes in various formats. However, the prices are a bit higher, ranging from $299 to $599 a year depending on the plan you choose, and they offer only stock footage and no other digital assets. It is a great platform if you just need videos but if you want other assets, too, then Motion Array is a better choice.

Verdict: Is Motion Array Any Good?

As you could probably tell by now, I really like Motion Array. It has all the assets I need for my projects, the price is low, and the quality is good. Sure, they don't have a library as big as some other subscription services, but the platform is rapidly growing: when I first joined Motion Array last year there were 600,000 assets, and now there are over 700,000 already. They also offer worry-free licensing that covers all the projects, and unlimited downloads is obviously a huge plus for me as I create a lot of videos every month. Not every asset is great, and sometimes I have to look hard to find unique footage but for the most part, I'm really satisfied with Motion Array's content and can definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an unlimited source of quality and affordable stock footage.
