Envato Elements vs. Motion Array Comparison 2024: Which Subscription Service Is The Best?

There are many platforms these days that help content creators make professional-looking videos easily. In this article, I will compare two of the most popular and affordable services that sell digital assets - Motion Array and Envato Elements. We'll take a look at their features, pricing, compare library sizes to decide which one is the best.

Envato Elements Vs Motion Array Review

What Is Motion Array?

Motion Array is a subscription platform that allows members unlimited downloads of stock footage, motion graphics, photos, music, templates, and plugins. All assets are royalty-free and can be used in commercial and personal projects. It is a good service for anyone who is interested in post-production.

What Is Envato Elements?

Envato Elements is an unlimited subscription service that has one of the largest libraries of digital assets. It was created for marketers, bloggers, YouTubers designers, and other professionals who need a source of quality, yet affordable creative tools and who don't want to worry about licensing.

Envato Elements vs. Motion Array: How Much Does Subscription Cost?

Envato Elements has two subscription options. You can either purchase a monthly plan that costs $33 per month or an annual plan that costs $198 per year (or just $16,50 a month). If you create a lot of content, then an annual subscription is a better deal. Both plans include unlimited downloads of all assets in the library, simple commercial licensing, and a 7-day free trial. There is also an option of signing up for a free Envato Elements account, which will allow you to download twelve free files every month.

Motion Array has three subscription options. A monthly plan is $29,99 a month, an annual is $249,99 a year (or $20,83 a month), and a team plan is $18,75 a month for each person (this plan is available for teams of 2-20 members). All plans include unlimited downloads and usage while the subscription is active. Motion Array doesn't have a free trial but you can create a free account and download some assets, including templates and plugins, at no cost.

Envato Elements vs. Motion Array License

All assets in Envato Elements library are licensed under a single-use commercial license. You won't need any extended license for your projects which I find very convenient. The only thing that I don't like is that you have to re-license every single file for each end project. Other than that, it's all very simple and straightforward. You can use any asset for your personal projects and for paying clients (advertising, marketing, products you sell, etc.). If you cancel your subscription, you won't be able to use any items in your new projects, but everything you created before, will still be covered.

Motion Array has a standard, universal license which means that all assets are royalty-free and can be used in any commercial or personal projects worldwide. There are some files (very few actually) in the library that are marked “For Editorial Use Only”, and you can use those only in non-commercial productions. All the projects you create while your subscription is active will be covered forever, but you won't be allowed to use any downloaded assets in new projects if you decide to cancel your membership.

Envato Elements vs. Motion Array Library

Envato Elements has one of the biggest libraries among stock media websites. There are over 2 million stock videos, 50K video templates, 113K music files, 590K sound effects, 185K graphic templates, 81K graphics, 69K presentation templates, 5 million photos, 24K fonts, 13K add-ons, 4K web templates, 1K CMS templates, 4K WordPress, and 114K 3D. As you can see, the library is very impressive, especially for those who are looking for stock photos.

Motion Array has around 700K digital assets in the library right now but for me - and, in my opinion, for most video creators - that is more than enough. As you probably know, most stock media websites have similar footage so even though Envato Elements has more videos, that doesn't necessarily mean, that they have more unique ones. Motion Array, on the other hand, has something that many similar platforms lack - a big catalog of templates (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Motion Graphics, Adobe Premiere Rush, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro), presets (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve Macros), and even Premiere Pro plugins. It is truly a one-stop solution for all video creative needs.

How Are They Different?

Even though Envato Elements and Motion Array both offer unlimited downloads of stock videos, photos, and music for a low price and have similar subscription models, they are different platforms. If you are like me and create a lot of video content, then Motion Array is a better choice because it has more assets for that.

Envato Elements is more of a platform for content creators and designers who need to have unlimited access to digital assets. For me, the biggest draw of Envato Elements is their photo collection that has millions of stock images.

Both platforms have a free account option but Envato Elements also offers a 7-day free trial.

Which Is Better Envato Elements or Motion Array?

Motion Array and Envato Elements are good, affordable subscription sites for digital assets. If you are a video creator, then Motion Array is a better choice. But if you are a designer or content creator who needs to have unlimited access to digital assets, then Envato Elements might suit your needs better.

I personally prefer Motion Array because I mostly create videos and having everything I need to do that in one place saves me a lot of time and money. But unlike Motion Array, Envato Elements have a lot of WordPress themes and digital assets for website creation which is obviously a huge plus for any designer. So as always, deciding which service to choose depends on your personal needs and preferences.
