Fun playing period music

We are accompanied by members of the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Era Dancers who will encourage audience participation and help guide you through the steps of the dances.

The Shenandoah Valley Civil War Era Dancers is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.

Our main goal is to raise money for historic land preservation by teaching and enjoying early American dance.

We enjoy dances of the 1800's, but we love dances of the Colonial period as well.

Along with leading dancing at living history events and reenactments, we have experience in leading a variety of community, family, church, and school dances from Colonial to Contra.

At living history events we usually set up at a site with our own recorded music and encourage passersby to learn a dance or two before they move on to the other activities.  We can also present 20 to 60 minute programs where we talk a little about the history and etiquette of 1800's dancing along with getting people up to dance.  We love calling a full-on dance which typically last 2 to 3 hours.

All performance fees will be donated to preservation groups such as:
