Prayer

Prayer

is communicating with God.

There is no right or wrong way of praying

and how we pray will probably change as we grow in our relationship with God.

If you are unsure where to start the suggestions below may help.

You also may like to discuss this exploration with someone,

if you do please contact Revd Lis.

You can pray any where and any time, you can follow a set format or simply talk and listen to God. It good to get into a routine of praying that works for you. Like any relationship it will only grow if time is given to it, however there is no need to feel guilty about missing prayer time.

Many Christians pray in the morning and in the evening; one way is:-

To begin the day is to pray about

  • the people and tasks you are going to encounter that day,
  • the stories in the news
  • the local community
  • those who are unwell, sick and the dying both known and unknown.
  • the church
  • yourself

And conclude the day by

reviewing the day's the highs and lows and handing them over to God.

or saying the phrase

"As I end this day in your safe keeping,

I count my blessings before my sleeping"

You could try prayer walking. This is when you go for a walk and pray about what you see, hear, smell, touch and taste. You can do a similar thing while on the bus!
