Posting Pictures On PPBB
the Easy Way
Credit should go to Guenter in Ontario who first posted this on PPBB. Blame to me who then adapted it to be more general and to deal with the case of a single picture.
1. Go to Tiny Pic http://tinypic.com/ and in the File line, just click the Browse button and find the picture (on your computer) that you want to post and click on the picture. The picture could still be on your camera or in a directory you downloaded it from the camera to. Wander through your directories till you find the picture.
2. If your picture is pretty large, you can automatically ask TINYPIC to resize the picture while it is being uploaded by clicking on "Resize" near the bottom and selecting a size. I'd recommend 800X600.
3. Click "Upload Now" on the Tiny Pic page
4. Wait until the picture is uploaded (You'll see a thumbnail of it on the right side of the screen when it's done.)
5. If you are posting multiple pictures, copy the 2nd line (It reads "Image code for Forums and Message Boards") (Here's one I just uploaded of my car
[IMG]http://i13.tinypic.com/711zn0o.jpg[/IMG]) by highlighting it and using Ctl-C. If you are posting only a single picture, instead copy the 4th line entitled 'Link'.
6. If you are posting multiple pictures, paste that line you just copied into your message in the text area (the big block where you usually type your message) on PPBB or, if you only are posting one, into the small "Optional Pictures URL" box at the bottom of the message posting area on PPBB .
7. If you are posting only the one picture, you are done. If multiples, now you have to replace the IMG in both places with pic so it will now show as:
8. I always like to click the Preview button at the bottom of my PPBB message to make sure I got it right before I post.
You can add as many pictures as you want in this way. Just paste each link on a new line in your message text.
It sounds a bit complicated, but it gets really easy when you do it a couple of times. I also find it helps if I have two tabs or windows open in Internet Explorer. One at my message in PPBB and the other at Tiny Pic. That way you can just switch back and forth for copying and pasting multiple pictures into your message.
