Thought for the Month
These are six months since I came to our parish. I am glad that my experience for the few months is peaceful and friendly.
I have learned with humility the new life in Northumberland. The North East is great with a different history. The Christians are so supportive. I visited many families with those who are housebound. Some people have as well invited me to their homes for a meal or a cup of coffee/tea.
Christmas was a great moment for me, the first time in Northumberland. Sharing gifts and warm greetings. I travelled with some Christians for Christmas shopping to York. It was a wonderful experience. I saw the wonderful York Cathedral and a busy shopping centre.
We are grateful to the Almighty God for giving us life and good friends. He takes care of us in every situation. It was on the 14th of January after mass at Longhorsley that when I was returning home, I got involved in car accident. It was unfortunate that I was unable to control the situation. My car overturned and crashed beyond repair. The car was carried away by Alpha recovery. I was examined by paramedics and the police were of great help. The miracle was that I had no injuries and I thought that day God has still a plan to accomplish through me.
I am grateful to the help I have received from many Christians of our parishes. A special thanks goes to Arthur Mitchell who has offered his car taking me to do work in Longhorsley. I thank the support of all our office team. I thank the volunteers in all our parishes.
The priests in our partnership have been great in reaching out to me either by telephone or by person contacting me. I appreciate all the prayers and support of everyone.
