Policies and Rules

Masking policy

Face masks need to be worn covering the nose and mouth completely except when outdoors, actively eating or drinking, or when teaching in the center of the circle and at 8 feet distance from the dancers. We strongly encourage the use of N-95 or equivalent masks. We will not make this type of mask mandatory; however, people wearing masks that are not deemed to provide adequate protection and coverage will be asked to wear a mask provided by the camp.

Alcohol policy

Alcohol is not allowed anywhere on the TIU campus. Any alcohol consumption  must occur at the hotel. We have reserved two conference rooms on the ground floor of the hotel for socializing and gathering for singing and crafts. One room will be modestly stocked with beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks. If you’d like to bring drinks (including alcohol) for yourself or for others to share, please feel free to do so. We welcome contributions to the supplies in the hospitality rooms – please arrange to give items directly to a committee member without bringing them on to campus.  You MAY NOT keep any alcohol in dorm rooms.

Video policy

June Camp does not allow individuals to video the teaching sessions, reviews of dances at the evening parties, or the Sunday review sessions. There will be two official videographers during the camp.  A video download package including Andy’s review session and the Dance Exchange will be available to all in-person camp attendees at a cost of $10. These funds will go to Andy. You can pay for the videos at camp, and they will be available for download or viewing  as soon as possible after camp

By purchasing the rights to download June Camp recordings, you agree that they are intended for your private use and possession only. You may not share or post any of the videos on any social media, allow anyone else to download them, or copy and send any videos to anyone. You are, of course, free to play them for your friends, including online events as long as you are present. You are also not allowed to edit out any of the copyright information on the videos. All material remains “Copyright 2022, June Camp - Midwest Folk Dance Association, Inc. All Rights Reserved.” In addition to our copyright, we ask you to remember that our teachers, musicians, and other performers have asked for this material to not be widely distributed.

Photo policy

By attending June Camp, you give June Camp the right and permission to use your name, likeness and voice, in advertising, promotion and other June Camp-related materials. This right and permission includes photographs, video recordings, audio recordings and all other media, including online and hard copy formats. We currently plan to provide a Zoom livestream of the Friday and Saturday evening parties. If you have concerns about being seen, please alert the June Camp Committee, and we will direct you to stay in an area away from the camera view.

Conduct code

A code of conduct has been adopted which is available to read or download here. We expect all participants to abide by this.

Personal hygiene

To make everyone happy, we have some reminders for you. Check these out (and thanks to Sanna Longden for the designs). In particular, we request that you use only unscented products!

TIU Rules per our contract

"No smoking, no drugs, no alcoholic beverages, or pets are allowed on TIU’s campus.  All vehicles on campus are subject to TIU’s vehicle regulations. Failure to comply with any policy specified in this clause may result in the Lessee being fined up to $200 per instance of non-compliance.”

Dining Hall Rules

TIU has strict rules prohibiting anyone from bringing their own food or water bottles into the dining hall and no food can be taken from the dining hall.  There will be tables set up right outside the dining hall for campers to place their bags and water bottles during meals.
