IHartHarvest, Inc. – The Potato Project - In 2015

As over 654 volunteers, we cut 18,000 pounds of seed potatoes in the Spring, and together we did a harvest of:

• • 10 Ares of potatoes from high density planting for 2015

  • 1 Acre of Baby Carrots

  • 1 Acre of Sweet Corn

Greater Berks Food Bank recorded receiving:

• 108,282 pounds of Kennebec Potatoes

• 19,902 pounds of Sweet Corn (679 from KL Plot)

• 5,472 pounds of carrots

Local Food Pantries Received:

• 11,935 pounds of potatoes

• 210 pounds of carrots

An Allentown Church Pantry Received: (from Lichtenwalner Plot)

• 4,500 pounds of potatoes

• 321 brussells sprouts

• 250 head of broccoli

• 87 head cauliflower

• 15 pounds of carrots

• Bulk Bins of Sweet Corn +/-10,000 pounds

Total for neighbors in need in 2015:

150,316 pounds of Potatoes, Carrots, and Sweet Corn, plus the other listed veggies above.

Valued at +$114,240.00.

We reached an estimated 24,943 Families, being 69,841 persons with your efforts, being in the Shires of: Berks, Western Montgomery, Schuylkill, York, Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, and Allentown that we are aware.

23.9 acres of harvested Field Corn through the Mill will help support project startup in 2016, along with much needed stewardship donations.

"What may not be understood," it is said, "and what we must understand, is that the work that we do is not about the physical things that we build, or the credit, notoriety, or even accolades we may garner. The work that we do is about the one thing that neither any civil war nor anything else can ever destroy. Everything, in restoration, that we do as a missionary work, everything, comes down to building relationships. Relationships between ourselves and others, and relationships between GOD and God's people, is that which matters, alone."
