Many different species of Fauna can be found on the reserve such as bats, glow-worms, butterflies and moths.

Also in the past, before the bush and tree lined link across the valley to Holtspur Bottom Butterfly Conservation Managed reserve was cut, dormice could be found in the many boxes which we erected for them in the Cut Throat wood part the reserve - sadly none have been recorded recently.
However, with the goodwill of the new owner of the Equestrian Centre, which occupies the land between the two reserves, we have started to plant a new hawthorn hedge linking both sides of the valley once again.
