Steve Parker's Day of Dance

Saturday 20th June 2015

Steven Parker has been with Headington for many years, latterly as our bagman until Jack took over in 2013. However Steve has been a Morris dancer for half a century! And consequently he has been a dancing member of many Morris sides.

To celebrate 50 years of Morris Dancing, Steve organised a weekend of Morris dancing around and including Bibury in Gloucestershire.

Headington Quarry sent our team to join in the fun!

Six Morris Sides attended including HMQD. Each side danced three dances at each venue, where locals and tourists became our audience. Lunch was served at Bledington, followed by a short song along, and beverages were consumed at each stop!

Our thanks go to each venue for allowing us to perform, and especially to the locals at Ablington who turned out in good number and provide us with free refreshment, which included locally made cider - very tasty!

Special thanks go to Steve for organising the whole weekend and especially for organising the coach to transport us around the villages and liaising with all the venues. he deserves to be proud of his efforts as a good day was enjoyed by all. Many congratulations, Steve!
