Stepping Stones Garden Club meets at Warsaw Christian Church

located at 320 State Street in Warsaw, Mo 65355 at 10 am on the

2nd Wednesday of the month unless otherwise noted in the schedule.

 

Visitors and new members are always welcome!

Feb.14 Meeting at 10:00 AM

Location: Boonslick Regional Library, Warsaw

Program: “Irises” Presenter: Eric Mozingo, owner of Plant Shack in Sedalia, will share his expertise and knowledge of the care of irises and other plants.

New yearbooks will be distributed and members will review 2024 plans and activities.


March 13 Meeting at 10:00 AM

Location: Patty’s Shop

Program: “Planting Herbs and Succulents for Plant Sale”

Presenter: Debra Barb, club member and experienced gardener, will share tips for starting herbs.


March 20 MoDOT trash pick up at 9:00 AM


TBD WCD Spring Board Meeting


April 10 Hooper House clean up at 9 AM

Bring: Gloves, plastic bags, rakes, etc. for working in the HH

garden. Please bring seeds and plants to add to the garden.


April 24 Meeting at 9:00 AM

Location: Boonslick Regional Library

Program: “Library Landscape Workday”

Bring: Gloves, plastic bags, rakes, etc. for working in the library

garden. After cleaning up the garden, members will attend a short meeting and discuss the plant sale. Lunch at Cosmic Coffee afterward


May 6-9 FGCM State Convention in Columbia, MO


May 8 Meeting at 9:00 AM (Carpools from Walmart)

Program: Visit Hwy 52 nurseries and lunch at Pioneer Restaurant in Versailles


May 18 Annual Plant Sale, 8am – 12pm, Downtown Warsaw


May 22 Art in the barn @ Patty’s Barn 9 AM


May 31 9 AM @ Boonslick Library: Decorate the window for National Garden Week.


June 2-5 NGC Convention, Westminster, CO


June 12 9 AM Tour Member Gardens and Picnic. Wear a festive hat and bring a friend!


June 19 MoDOT trash pick up at 9:00 AM

Program: “Native Plants and Water Conservation”

Donnie Nichols, Master Naturalist and newspaper columnist, will discuss how native plants conserve and filter water and the important part they can play in controlling flooding.


August 14 Meeting at 10:00 AM 

Location: Boonslick Regional Library

Program: “Bees and Pollinators”

Presenter: Paul Landsburg from Paul’s Honey Farm will share his expertise on bees and pollinators and explain honey producing.


August 14 Federation Day at the MO State Fair

Program: “Flower Design”

Presenter: Rhoda Moore from Moore’s Greenhouse in Sedalia will give tips on flower designs.

Location: Warsaw Christian Church

Program: “Pressed Flower Crafts”

Presenter: Kara Entrop, MDC Community Education Assistant, will discuss the basics of pressing flowers and provide guidance on making your own pressed flower crafts.


October 17-19 Central Region Meeting, O’Fallon, IL


November 1 MoDOT trash pick up at 9:00 AM


November 13 Meeting at 10:00 AM

Location: Warsaw Christian Church

Program: “Silent Auction and Food Drive”

Bring a donation for the food pantry, items for the Silent Auction Fundraiser (holiday and garden items/donation appreciated if you don’t participate), and donation for Christmas for Kids.


December 11 Meeting at 10:00 AM

Location: Debra Barb’s Home

Program: “Christmas Tea Party”

Presenter: Debra Barb, member and hostess extraordinaire, will treat the club to

a lovely holiday tea party. In lieu of a gift exchange, members donated in November to help support “Christmas for Kids.”

December 6 & 7 Kaysinger Christmas Youth Workshop 3-9 PM
