Synod Pennant (2014)

As the leaders of the Catholic faith convened to celebrate the elevation of Pope Paul VI to sainthood at Bernini's 1657 collonade-lined square, the SF Giants were enjoying a miracle moment when Travis Ishikawa hit a 'walk off' home run to win the National League pennant in October 2014. Meanwhile, the Synod of 200 bishops' 2014 report did not include language to accept gay marriage which had been proposed by more progressive, or should I say, small-c catholics.

Spring 2014 at BCC, I studied 'creative process' with Seth Eisen. This allowed me to work in 3d, mixed media and installations to present painting series.

Inadequacies Laid to Rest is a thematic series of small paintings framed with cut/folded paper "flowers", presented along with come "cookie" cutouts.
