Employment

Are you interested in becoming a part of our team? We are always looking for hard-working and dedicated people who love working with animals to be a part of our operation.

There are a few things you should know if you are interested in working at Busse's Barron Acres:

  • Most of our employees are specifically calf feeders. Calf feeders work a split shift, with the first half of the work taking place from 3:00 a.m. to about 7:30 a.m., and the second half of the shift from 1:00 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. This situation works great for some people, but not for others.

  • You should be prepared for some physical work. There are some lifting and physical requirements to be able to perform the tasks related to taking care of the calves.

  • We work outside for a good portion of the shift. Rain, snow, sleet, or heat... the calves still need to be eat!

  • You need to care about the calves! The bottom line is that our job is to do what is best for them, not what is convenient for us. It means being detail-oriented, going the extra mile, and having the patience to make sure they get what they need.

  • If all of these things make sense to you and you love working with animals, this is one of the most rewarding jobs you will find! We all love seeing the happy, healthy animals that are a result of our efforts. This can be a great career choice for the right person.

We will post specific employment opportunities on this page as well as our Facebook page, but if you would like to be considered for future openings, please send your resume and a letter of introduction/cover letter to normbusse@gmail.com. Previous experience or training preferred but is not required. Many of our employees had no prior experience before coming to Busse's.
