All these pieces have been either sold, consigned out, or given away... shown as examples of my past work.

But... most are available as Prints.

The Gap

The Gap 8 X 8 in. on museum board. I love the way this small piece turned out. It just seemed to flow smoothly & effortlessly on to the easel. Sold at my one man show at Wren Gallery, NH.

Percy Peaks 15.5 X 18 in. on museum board. This is Percy Peaks as seen from my brother-in-laws field, across the road, on the edge of the Connecticut River, looking north. A hazy, late fall day, around sunset, & after a few early snows have frosted the tops of the surrounding mountains. River maples line the ever falling & changing banks of this meandering river. Took a while to do this one, as I thought the best way to represent the trees on the peaks was with a pointillism technique of a thousand tiny dots. 3 weeks later, of 4 hour painting session days, I promised myself not to use this method any time soon. Accepted into the juried show "The Pastelists" at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT.

River and Reeds 14 X 18.5 in. on museum board. Late fall sunset on the Connecticut River. Cold enough that sections of the river are freezing up & early snow is sticking, yet some interesting melting patterns in the shallow reedy shoal in the foreground due to the sun & perhaps a little rise & fall of the river. After doing the somewhat paler, pastel colored Percy Peaks piece, I wanted to do something with more color & contrast to show off the richness of dry, soft pastels. I think it worked out well, & it certainly took less time. Accepted into the juried show "The Pastelists" at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, VT.

Fall Fire 8 X 8 in. on museum board. An abstraction of some Staghorn Sumac's in back & young Sugar Maple's in front, during the glory of peak foliage season. Another small, loose piece. Looking forward to doing some even smaller, & more affordable, impressionistic works in the future, maybe even some larger pieces too.

Heavy Snow on Spruce

Heavy Snow on Spruce 14 X 16 in. on museum board. An Homage to Rien Poortvliet, a Dutch illustrator/artist, who I drew a lot of inspiration from in the past. Sold at my one man show at Wren Gallery, NH.

Bush & Brush 11 X 8.5 in. on museum board. A bush & some brush gone wild at the edge of a field, on a bright summers day, with the sun streaking down at noon. I really like this piece, & apparently, so does my wife, as she kept it for herself & won't let me sell it. I love the way that the smearing & streaking of the sun rays worked out on the brushwood in back & the sharp contrast on the bush in front. Must do more works similar to this.

Lavender Fields Forever

Lavender Fields Forever 8 X 8 in. on museum board. A small, bright, imaginary piece. Sold at my one man show at Wren Gallery, NH.

Prints available

Bog out Back 25 X 19 in. on Canson Mi-Teintes paper. A swampy bog out back of my sister-in-laws property, with ground fog rolling in at dusk. A larger, more detailed piece, yet still has a naturally surreal soft feel to it. I still like using this old stand by paper, but it is not 100% rag content. This was a favorite of many folks, but gave this to my sister-in-law for Christmas, as I had owed her a pastel piece for quite a while.

Fall Road 17.5 X 13.5 in. on museum board. Driving through the back roads of Granby Vermont on a bright, sunny, fall day during peak foliage can be quite an experience. We do it every year & still find something new to catch the eye. Used a lot of what I call "hatching" here. Small, hard, short strokes that I use to give definition to leaves & grasses. This piece was shipped framed to the S.F. Bay area.

Crack of Dawn on a Foggy Field 8 X 6.75 in. on museum board. Small piece... long name. Like an atomic explosion ... the sun rises.

A Hole Other View

A Hole Other View 12 X 10 in. on museum board. A recent multi-media work with soft pastels & photograph on a holey board. A juxtaposition of summer & winter? Sold at my one man show at Wren Gallery, NH.

Sunset Clouds 14 X 11 in. on museum board. Aye yep... clouds at sunset. A bit of blending done here. Not too wispy, not too solid... sort of a "surrealistic pillow" effect going on. This one resides in Vermont.

Fall Birches 10.5 X 8.5 in. on museum board. Long shadows, on 5 birches, on an autumn eve. Did I just make a haiku?... nope.. too short... how about... Long purple shadows, follow after five birches, on an autumn eve. Well... not quite right. This piece resides over in New Hampshire.
