Hello to all our superhero teachers!!

Great news – Your FIRST LEGO League Jr. Kit will be despatched in the next few days so you should receive them at the end of next week!

To get started, why not check out our Team Resources page on the website. Here you will find all the digital content you will need for this season including the BOOMTOWN BUILD Challenge document and Build Instructions (which can also be found inside your Inspire Set). It may be a good time to bookmark this page if you haven’t done so already for easy reference going forward!

I’ve attached a digital copy of the Engineering Notebook so you can print out extra copies if you want to run the programme with additional children. I’ve also attached a BOOMTOWN BUILD participation Certificate which can also be printed out and given to each child that participates in the challenge!

Each BOOMTOWN BUILD Inspire set will consist of the following:

• 1 x Inspire Set (box of LEGO based around the annual theme)

• 6 x Engineering Notebooks (one for each child to record their ideas) Virtual copies will be available if more than 6 children will be taking part

• 1 x Team Meeting Guide (consisting of 12 session plans to help the coach deliver the challenge)

• 6 x LEGO Medals (one for each child, to be given out once the challenge has been completed)

We will also provide you with a LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 to complete the challenge – you’ll just need a suitable tablet in order to download the free software to program your WeDo 2.0. For any queries related to your LEGO WeDo, or help with programming, please visit the Raising Robots website!

Finally, as you may have already noticed, we are unable to run any physical Expos due to Covid-19. However, we’re exploring the possibility of online engagement with the schools, either through videos on our social media, live streamed events or video conferencing and will of course keep you posted. In the meantime, get in touch! Send a message to @FLLUK, or post on the FIRST LEGO League UK and Ireland’s Facebook page and we’ll do our best to send traffic your way.
