F*ck-Boys

by Megan Thomson

Dating in the 21st Century, we can all agree, is a complete disaster. It’s time to expose the horrors of what we as a generation have to deal with when trying to find 'the one'. Through the woman’s eyes we explore the struggles with ghosting, situationships and danger in this new world we live in.

These are real experiences, the cold, brutal, honest truth of these situations we get ourselves in.

Content Warning: strong language / sexual references / nudity / flashing lights / male stereotypes

Second Chances

by Charlotte Lawson

The concept behind Second Chances is all about if you were given the opportunity to have a conversation with your 5 year old self, what would you say?

As adults we are taught to hate all the imperfections we see in ourselves, all the things that we think are imperfect. In childhood we don't consider these things as bad or as imperfections at all. As adults we need to remember to be kind to ourselves when talking about ourselves. You wouldn't speak to your 5 year old self in such a way, so why are you talking about yourself like that now?

The 5 Stages of Heartbreak

by Kirsty Walton

Heartbreak is a theme we can all relate to, whether we have lost a loved one or ended a relationship with a significant other. If it hasn't happened to you yet, it will. This autobiographical piece will explore the five stages of heartbreak; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Through a Cabaret style performance, this piece aims to shine light on how the healing from these stages isn't necessarily a linear process.

Content Warning: mentions of grief | relationships | adult language.

The Bartender Will See You Now

by Gemma Cathcart

If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.

The Bartender Will See You Now is about the different situations a bartender can go through, especially those interactions with customers. It focuses on life behind the bar and the dedication to deliver an outstanding performance, however, some situations can be hard. This can seem like a comedic play, but it has hidden messages throughout. Sometimes, a bartender is the one that listens to the customer about their problems. But now, the roles are reversed, and the bartender is taking the spotlight.

Contains strong language.

The Face of Despair

by Jack Slinger

We all know what it’s like to feel lost, to feel despair, to see the world only in greys and blues, unsure if it will ever truly pick up. Some people live their whole lives unable to see past this fog, but sometimes hope is just around the corner.

This short film attempts to show just how confusing and uncomfortable the world can feel, but also how bright and simple the next good day can be, just waiting after the next hurdle.

The Woman in Black

by Brooklyn Robertson

The Woman in Black is an Immersive Experience where the audience is completely blindfolded. The story follows junior solicitor Arthur Kipps who needs to get the affairs of the late ‘Alice Drablow’ in order, whom Kirsty Walton will narrate. He starts to write about the events that happened to him in the past to try to erase them from his memory. His horrific past experiences happened at ‘Eel Marsh House’, where he is haunted by 'The Woman in Black'. We follow one of his memories of the dog ‘Spider’, the companion that was given to him to keep him company while he stayed at the property.

With trigger warnings of darkness, dog distress, and breaches of personal space. Out of sight, out of mind to a whole new level. Do you think you can handle it?

4.30pm - 5pm

The Long Night

by Fraser Bishop

The Long Night is a piece of Sci-fi/fantasy live theatre, adapted from the short story Nightfall by Isaac Asimov. The piece is a hybrid of both live performance and film. First written as a film, ‘The Long Night’ was not intended for stage. However, through incorporating live performance aspects whilst maintaining elements of film, the story is brought to life. By adapting the story for stage, simplifying it, and letting the characters come to life has made what was a complicated story, more relatable. Through the lighting and sound design for both stage and screen, and the acting performances this story has been recreated for an audience today.

Special thanks to to Grant Jamieson Liam Barr and Joe Osborn for all their help on the project.
