Where to buy native plants

There are a few nurseries within a two hour drive that specialize in growing native plants.

Cornflower Nursery in Elk Grove has a variety of plants and some native grasses.

Intermountain Nursery east of Fresno is another good source for natives.

If you contact our local nurseries, they can often order natives from other growers further away that require minimum orders and are often wholesale only. Both Westurf Nursery (Claus Road in Modesto) and Morris Nursery (Highway 108 in Riverbank) and Frantz Nursery, in Hickman regularly carry a limited number of native plants.

Plant Sales

UC Davis Arboretum has plant sales in spring and fall at their Davis Nursery. Check their website for dates. http://publicgarden.ucdavis.edu/plant-sales
