What's Happening in the Garden

Sunday, April 7 the first annual Modesto Pollinator Festival will be held in the La Loma Native Garden from noon-3pm.

It will commence with a children's pollinator parade, followed by a new pollinator mural unveiling, ladybug release, speaker on value of pollinators

and what we can all do to help bring back thriving populations of bees and butterflies. Tables with educational materials and displays, activities for kids. Free family event. We encourage everyone to come, learn and have some fun.

Saturday morning weeding blitzes, 8:00- 8:30 am, June thru October

Oct. 20, Native Plant Sale at Hughson Arboretum, 9:00-1pm

Nov. 3, 2018 - Native Garden Work Day, 8:00-12:00, planting native plants, installing compost bins at vegetable garden

Jan. 2019 , Mural painting project begins

April 7, 2019 Pollinator Parade for children and families

April 13, 2019 - Volunteers needed to work at the garden for Love Modesto Day, ( 9:00-12:00) Mulching, planting, spreading rock

Vegetable garden planted.
