"Frosty Blue" Ceanothus

Frosty Blue ceanothus is a medium to large size shrub that can be shaped into a tree or used as a hedge.

Sun requirements: Full sun, or part shade

Growth habit: grows upright to 8 or 10 feet, and equally as wide.

Water: Prefers dry to light watering, needs good drainage

Bloom: (Mar. -May) in spring it produces masses of light to medium blue flowers in 3" clusters, frosted with white, giving it its name.

Description: this shrub is an evergreen with small, glossy dark green leaves that tolerates heavy clay soils, maturing in 18 months.
