About Us

The Inv. Holmes N. Smith Jr. Foundation was established in to continue to honor legacy of Inv. Smith, a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer who proudly answered his call to protect and serve his community. He worked in law enforcement for nearly 20 years, serving as a Police Officer for the City of Manning, a Game Warden for Sumter County Department of Natural Services, and a Sheriff’s Deputy for the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, November 5, 2014, Inv. Smith was killed in a one car collision while on duty, returning from a meeting with SLED Agents in Sumter County.

The Inv. Holmes N. Smith Jr. Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the relationship between communities and law enforcement by establishing meaningful connections and by providing empowering resources to those in need.
