Site Implementations

One of the best things that happens with this project is when a teacher or school calls and says, "We're in! Lets do this!" This is my chance to help set up a Drum Circle/World Music program in a new space! This is what Fred Simpson (an African Drummer that filled a residency at my school in the 1990s) did for me.

My site implementation plan is a one to three day, side by side, in service opportunity where I will help the school/teacher set up a Drum Circle/World Music program unique to his/her situation or class configurations. I will help get drums and other instruments for the program, explore grant writing opportunities for funding, and introduce rhythm, methods, and lesson plan books, CDs, and DVDs for the teaching kit. I will help write and teach some beginning and drum basics lessons to students. (Both demonstration and side by side to help the teacher get comfortable with world music/rhythm instruction.) I will also introduce you to a network of teachers and schools in the Intermountain West that are successfully implementing like programs. Finally, I will be available to help, as needed to keep your new program exciting and successful!

Since Site Implementations are my favorite things to do...I do not charge for my time spent at the school!

*I will ask for some help with travel and housing expenses if the distance is over 100 miles.
