who we are

The BROADWAY DRAWING SCHOOL (BDS) is founded on a strong belief in the fundamental nature of drawing practice as the basis of all creative pursuits, and in its capacity as the basic form of visual language to act as a as vehicle for all manner cross-disciplinary communication.

The BROADWAY DRAWING SCHOOL (BDS) is founded on a passion for drawing that thrives on the energy and enthusiasm that is manifest in the simplest of marks made on a surface with creative intent.

The emphasis and ethos at Broadway is on friendly professional instruction based on a productive synthesis of classical ‘atelier’ training and a wide range of more contemporary approaches to the discipline. Life drawing and specialist anatomical study, always working with professional models, are seen as the bedrock of the bespoke instructional programs and this is complemented by a comprehensive approach to media and techniques, both traditional and experimental.
