Preventative

Preventive care in a dental office includes prophylaxis, or the cleaning of the teeth, which removes accumulations of calculus. It includes examination of the teeth and soft tissue, using visual and tactile exams, radiographic examination, such as x rays, and oral cancer screening. Sometimes, dentists prescribe medications to help prevent dental disease. These include anti-inflammatory mouthwashes to prevent periodontal problems.

Preventive procedures often performed by dentists for children include the use of fluoride supplements and applications. Dentists apply dental sealants to children's teeth, forming a barrier between tooth crevasses and bacteria to help ward off dental decay.

We recommend routine preventive dental care visits two times a year. Each routine visit includes a comprehensive cleaning and oral examination. We will screen for decay, gum disease, periodontal disease, oral cancer, TMJ, and problems with your bite.

Restorative

If you've got a cavity, we will provide a dental filling. Left untreated, a cavity can eventually lead to serious infection and, even worse, the loss of a tooth. We use silver amalgam and composite tooth-colored material to create dental fillings to restore your teeth.

Porcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays provide extra strength and protection for teeth that have more extensive damage or are broken.

We also offer root canal therapy. When an infection has reached the nerve that runs through your tooth root, root canal therapy removes the diseased nerve, cleanses the canal, and fills it to stop the infection. Oftentimes, root canal therapy can save teeth that might otherwise have been lost, keeping your smile.

We offer several options for replacing missing teeth. If you've lost one tooth, several teeth, or need to replace all of your teeth, we want you to know that replacement is a top oral health priority. Sure, having a complete smile is more aesthetically pleasing, but it’s also better for your overall well being, keeping other teeth from shifting or also being lost. Our tooth replacement options include Crown and Bridgework, Dentures and Partials.

Oral Surgery

The most recognized form of oral surgery is tooth extraction. Reasons for tooth extraction can range from impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth, teeth beyond repair either from tooth decay, root fracture, or trauma, primary teeth that have failed to fall out preventing the eruption of permanent teeth, or orthodontic treatment plans may require the removal of some teeth to achieve the optimum result
