Ducks

All my Butternut Ducks are carved with solid bodies and head attached with a dowel and glue. The head is also cut from the same piece as the body and I try to match the grain before gluing. They are priced from $150 to $200 + according to size and detail. For example a Green Winged Teal is a very small bird and is priced at $150 whereas a large Duck such as a Black would be $200 and up. Butternut carvings are finished with 6 coats of Tru-Oil (a gun stock finish) and can have either a gloss or satin finish as the customer desires. The painted ducks are done in Acrylics and and have a clear-coat matte finish. They are carved in either Pine or Basswood. Major feather groups are carved and quills and barbs are detailed with a burning pen. Watch my Facebook page for new additions.
