Materials needed
What you should have with you. Every day
Please keep in mind: I will always have extra materials available for students who have difficulty acquiring them. Parents, please do not hesitate to let me know if this is the case. I will, without judgment, provide everything a child needs for class.
Your Math Portfolio, which is:
A 3 ring binder, only for math class.
This will always be kept in math class. Some of the things below will be kept in your binder.
2" width is perfect. Does not need to be a zipped binder.
A graph-paper style notebook
80 pages minimum.
Having squares instead of lines makes it easy to make tables, graphs, and draw shapes
Your pencil case, with:
At least 2 pencils, preferably more than 5. (Always have more than one. Students, you will lose these over the year.)
At least 1 eraser
At least one highlighter (those students who like to colour-code may wish to have different colours)
A scientific calculator (it needs to be able to make exponents. You will use this all throughout high school math.)
A geometry set
A ruler (15cm is fine), a compass, a set square (right-angle triangle), a protractor
Lined paper
Having 15-30 sheets on hand at all times is fine. The rest can be kept at home.
Other Materials Mr. L will Collect at the Start of the Year
1 package of whiteboard markers. (4. Any colour is fine, but darker colours show up better)
1 package of white chalk (12 pieces.)
Good to keep on standby, at home
Extra stationary and writing supplies
Pencils, highlighters,
Extra notebooks (2-3)
Extra lined paper
