About

Why Orff Schulwerk?

Orff Schulwerk is an approach to music and movement education pioneered by German Composer Carl Orff (1895-1982) and his colleague Gunild Keetman. Its foundation was concerned with the child, the needs of the child and the emphasis on nourishing the musicality of each child through elemental music and movement activities.

What other workshops do you do?

Once a year we offer a one day workshop in the North of the State, called our Statewide Workshop. This typically takes place in August or September. Regular sharing meetings happen online or in person around the state.

Tell me about Summer School.

Each January we offer a three day Summer School in Hobart, and bring in a guest presenter to teach us in the Orff Schulwerk style and tradition. These presenters are sourced from the finest Orff practitioners in the world.

What is a Levels Course?

ANCOS accredited Levels Courses are intensive courses (usually five or six days long) which immerse participants in the very core and essence of Orff Schulwerk. They are run by various Orff Schulwerk Associations around Australia. We offer scholarships to our members to help defray the cost of attending these courses.
