Mrs. Burnett's Biography

Mrs. Burnett lives in Winthrop with her husband, Jonathan, who also teaches 7-12 choral music at Norwood-Norfolk. They have 2 children, Truman who is in 9th grade, and Lydianna who is in t6h grade. They also have 30 alpacas and lots of birds on their farm.

Mrs. Burnett attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam for her undergraduate degree in music education, and her graduate degree, also in music education. During her time as a Master's student Mrs. Burnett oversaw 2 groups of undergraduate students during their practicum teaching students at St. Mary's in Canton. She also just earned her 200-hour Yoga teaching certificate.

Mrs. Burnett then taught 6-12 Vocal and General Music at Madrid-Waddington for 10 years. She made a big change in her career at that point, and taught K-6 music students at Madison Elementary in Massena for 2 years. Then, this position opened up, and she wanted to be with her own children in her home district. This is Mrs. Burnett's 4th year at St. Lawrence Central.
