Voice Lessons

Voice Lesson Procedures and Requirements

*all subject to change at teacher discretion

In School Students

1. Let your teacher know at the start of class that you have a lesson.

2. Be sure you turn in any homework before coming to your lesson.

3. Take quizzes, tests and do labs before attending your lesson.

4. If you have to miss a lesson because of a quiz, test or lab please make it up as soon as possible.

5. Please let Mrs. Burnett know ahead of time if you will miss your lesson because of a quiz, test or lab by emailing me at nburnett@bfcsd.org or calling me at 29146 if you learn of it at the start of class.

6. If during period 5 or 6 you have lunch, go to your entire lunch period and then to your lesson for any remaining time. If you finish eating early and want to come to your lesson, please do!

7. Period 5 lessons are 11-11:45

8. Period 6 lessons are from 11:45-12:30.

Make-Ups

1. There are days scheduled in for make ups. Make ups are only done out of study halls.

2. Please email Mrs. Burnett at nburnett@bfcsd.org ahead of time to schedule a makeup appointment.

3. Make ups will be periods 2, 3, 5 or 6 on odd days, and periods 6,7 or 8 on day 4.

4. If you don’t have any study halls, please contact me about scheduling a remote make up. Remote makeups will only be available in extenuating circumstances.

Requirements

1. Lessons are 20% of your grade

2. They are every other week.

3. You will have one “freebie” lesson each marking period. There are 3-4 lessons in the first marking period.

4. You will only miss each class about once every 2-3 months for your chorus lesson.

Remote Students

1. Your lesson is at the same time every other week.

2. Log on, mute yourself and sing as though we were in the room together.

3. If you need to make up a lesson please contact me to schedule a time.

4. I will have you take turns unmuting yourself so I can hear you at least once a lesson.
