Connecting Neighborhoods for Pods & Enrichment

Communities across the country are coming together to create small groups of children, sometimes called pods, that can meet in controlled circumstances for socialization, virtual school, homework support and enrichment. Sometimes these small groups involve professional teachers and sometimes they are entirely parent-driven. This NY Times article provides an overview of how some communities are organizing.

How We're Approaching Pods & Enrichment Activities

We're organizing pods & enrichment activities by neighborhoods because pods & enrichment activities will require children to meet in small groups (generally six to a group) so that parents can minimize their children's potential for exposure to the virus.

This effort is just starting and many more neighborhoods have the opportunity to work together.

Neighborhood coordinators follow three simple steps to facilitate a conversation about what their community needs and what it can provide. Neighborhood coordinators facilitate a conversation - they do not need to lead pod/enrichment activities themselves. Let us know if you can coordinate in your neighborhood.

Please also let us know if something has already started in your neighborhood and we'll add you to this site so that people from your community can see how to get together.
