NORDIC NETWORK FOR WOMEN IN AESTHETICS

The Nordic Network for Women in Aesthetics (NNWA) represents women working in Aesthetics in a variety of areas in the Nordic countries. We also welcome those who do not work in the Nordic countries but might have strong connections to one or several such countries. Aesthetics is here broadly defined and is considered a discipline building on a variety of scholarly traditions, ranging from philosophy, art theory, art history, musicology, literary studies, and more.

Objectives: One of the primary objectives of the network is to be a platform for debate about the research we conduct in Aesthetics from these different perspectives. As a part of that work, we intend to promote collaboration across the Nordic countries in terms of research projects, but also the transfer of information about conferences and workshops, studies and research investigations, etc. Another important goal is to bring together academics who are women and encourage an open discussion about issues to do with the representation of women in the various disciplines, including on reading lists, teaching material, and conference programmes, etc.
