Stress has very negative impacts on our minds as well as our bodies. Below you will find a variety of resources to help you relax when you are facing stressors. Please review some of the links and resources, and if you need additional support remember that you can always come to the Counseling Office!

There are a variety of categories that help young people calm down. Coping skills include:

  • Distractions (music, sleep, TV, games, puzzles, and other online media)

  • Physical Activity (yoga, walking, sports, playing with pets, and more)

  • Mindfulness/Calming Techniques (breathing strategies, visualization, relaxation, etc.)

  • Expressive Outlets (journaling, playing music, art, dance, and other creative activities)

  • Seeking Support (from friends, family, teachers/counselors, therapist, online groups)
