Ski School 2024

We had another successful ski school program here at Menihek Nordic Ski Club.

The program started on Monday, February 26th with 19 students from Ms. Stanley’s class. There were 5 classrooms of grade 5 students from JR Smallwood Middle School who skied 3 times and one classroom from Centre educative l’envol who also came for three different sessions.

First day students were informed about ski safety, dress code and nutrition. Once they were fitted out with ski equipment, they were divided into smaller groups for instruction with 5 students per 1 instructor followed by a short ski.

The second visit the students went on a different trail and enjoyed a ski game before returning to the ski chalet.

The final session the students were introduced to more challenging trails with more uphill and downhills which was a huge hit with the kids.

The program finished on April 16th , 2024 in which a total of 145 students took part.

This has been running for many years and is very valuable to the students and our ski club. They are introduced to a healthy outdoor activity they can enjoy with family and friends and avail of our wonderful ski programs here at Menihek Nordic.

We are looking forward to next year’s classes.

Thank you again for a wonderful ski season!

We had another great ski sessions with the Centre Educatif L’Envol Ski School. The students were very respectful towards their leaders and I was very impressive with the respect and caring ways towards each other, it was very nice to see how much they care.

The first day was ski equipment fittings and learning ski techniques and etiquette.  Their second day we took them on a longer ski with some easy uphill and downhills and the final day they enjoyed a different trail with long downhills which they truly enjoyed.  I feel this program builds confidence and introduces a healthy lifestyle for life.  We here at Menihek Nordic look forward to seeing everyone next season.  Hope everyone haves a great and safe summer
