Renting vs. Purchasing 

Now that your child has tried playing various instruments and made a final selection, it is time to get one for them to learn on!  If you are planning to rent or purchase one, please read on.

Rent-to-Own:

We highly recommend that you consider a rent-to-own program through one of our local vendors.  Visit their websites to look at their beginner rental packages which include the instrument, the appropriate lesson book, the stand, and appropriate accessories like reeds, swabs, valve oil, etc.

Tempted to just buy an instrument online?

Some families would prefer to buy an instrument on their own.  Shop wisely!  Purchasing on the internet can be problematic.  MANY items for sale online will simply not work well enough for your child to be successful in lessons.  Instruments rented by our local vendors are quality instruments that will serve your child well as they begin their musical journey.   Also note that many “online deals” do not come with the required lesson book, music stand, and accessories needed to participate in lessons.

We endorse our local vendors because they work to set up our students for success. We do not get any "kick back" by recommending them. The result is happy students who are prepared for lessons with quality equipment and proud families who can watch their children’s growth and improvement. 

If you do plan to purchase an instrument independently, please see below to find a quality instrument that will help your child to be successful.  If you are considering buying an instrument brand that is not listed, please contact your child's teacher for advice.
