Leadership & Team-building

In my first year as Editor-in-chief, as only a sophomore, I faced challenges in expressing confidence as a young leader. In spite of this, I sought to grow in my role along with those I led. This early piece of mine showcases leadership in its ability to motivate through concise, proactive prose and accessible structure.

My final year opened with its new set of challenges: this time, my confidence had grown, but the spirits of our student body and publication staff had diminished. The difference of the two (long) years had provided me with enough experience to recenter my views of leadership and share them in this article. In a way, my writing became humbler, less about the words themselves and more about their meaning. Less about ambition and more about service. That is the type of leadership I truly want to embody.
