Culmination of Trainer’s Training in Photovoltaic Systems Installation NC II

Surigao del Norte - In line with the institution’s efforts to venture for a sustainable and renewable solutions to electric interruptions and costly electric consumptions and in compliance to the directive from our Director General Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña to provide training in Photovoltaic System and its installation, operation and maintenance and such other technical intervention to the community, the Surigao del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology (SNCAT) headed by Ms. Abegail B. Eupeña successfully concluded the Training of Trainers in Photovoltaic (PV) System Installation NC II with 17 completers last October 8, 2021.

The said training was strategically implemented within 5 days, starting October 4-8, 2021 through Competency Based Training delivery. This was successfully conducted with the expertise of Engr. Edilberto R. Tamiok and Mr. Florito S. Avenido as the Lead Trainers. The 17 participants of the said training were composed of 10 from SNCAT, 5 from 30 IB Philippine Army and 2 from SSCT-Mainit Campus.

Completers were able to earned competencies in performing site assessment, checking PV components/materials compliance, installing PV System and performing PV System Testing and Commissioning, all reflected in their certificate of training.

During the culmination program, our very own Provincial Director of TESDA Surigao del Norte, Ms. Catalina O. Tacubao took part in behalf of the Regional Director of TESDA Caraga, Ms. Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III, by delivering a culmination message, encouraging all the completers on their endeavor to be a relevant member of the community by taking part on their role essential in respond to one of the priority directives of Sec. Lapeña. Afterwards, training certificates were awarded by Ms. Eupeña and PD Tacubao to the completers.

In her send-off to mission message, Ms. Eupeña emphasized the importance of electricity nowadays and what they can contribute to help the community.

“We are lucky to have our homes lighted and have benefited too much from it. However, not all of us have electricity at home especially our fellow kababayans who are living in the far-flung communities. With these, you are called for an important mission. A voluntary act of service to God and Humankind, you are indeed the chosen few to help them experience light in darkness and give hope to survive this new normal situation marked by the suffering and challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
