SNCAT’S INDULGENCE TO THE PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC CONCOCTIONS AND EXTRACTS

November 9, 2020 - Surigao del Norte College of Agriculture and Technology under the administration of Engr. Edwin C. Lanquino, commences the training on the Production of Organic Concoctions and Extracts on November 9, 2020 at the SNCAT Event’s Center in Magpayang, Mainit, Surigao del Norte. The training was graced by 34 participants consisted by the Job Order, Casual and some Regular Employees of the institution.

This is SNCAT’s starting point leading to offer Organic Agriculture Production NC II qualification to its clients. The training was conducted by the expert, Sir Carlos M. Dunque of Farm Services Division. The first day of the training includes the discussion of the 6 types of Concoctions and Extracts: (1) Indigenous Microorganisms (IMO), (2) Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ), (3) Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ), (4) Fish Amino Acid (FAA), (5) Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN), and (6) Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum (LABS). Demonstration of the production of the concoctions of Fermented Fruit Juice (FFJ) and Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN) was done during the afternoon session by Sir Dunque and followed by the return demo of the participants. The methodologies were clearly discussed. Since it takes several days for the fermentation process, thus it takes time also to have the final product of the concoctions.

The resulting product of the organic concoctions and extracts are vital for plants and animals, and even some concoctions like, OHN and LABS are both applicable for humans. For plants, concoctions can be used to: (1) hasten decomposition process of the waste materials (to be used as soil fertilizer), (2) to increase the rate of plant growth (due to the presence of auxin hormones), (3) used as pesticide (when mixed with PAN-TA-C (Panyawan, Tobacco, and Chili). For animals, concoctions will be mixed to its drinking water to enhance digestion and this is also good as antibacterial agent for their body. For humans, an ample amount of OHN and LABS can be used as well, for good digestion as probiotics and antibacterial agent as well.
