Q&A: Hector Anthony Brodie

Arrowhead High School Class of 2012

Eagle Scout - June 2012

Q. - Why Boy Scouts?

A. - At my cub scout Arrow of Light ceremony I was impressed by the professionalism of the Boy Scouts running the ceremony. Afterwards I talked to a few of them to know more about scouts. As they told me about all the fun and outings; that was it- I was hooked.

Q. - What did Boy Scouts DO for You?

A. - One of the huge benefits of Boy Scouting has been the lifelong friendships I have made. Another would be the many lessons in responsibility, leadership, and integrity that I have learned in those 6 years.

Q. - What Advice do you have for young scouts?

A. - My advice to younger scouts is to do as much book and advancement work before you hit High school! It is really easy to get swept up into high school activities (I did), and before you know it your 18th birthday is right around the corner! If you do your work early, you'll have much more time to have fun and enjoy your scouting career with your friends! Also, don't quit!

Q.-What was your favorite Scouting memory?

A.-By far my favorite experiences in scouting were summer camps at Camp Lefeber. We had bonfires every night, cooked our own food, and stayed up playing risk until we collapsed!
