About Us

Troop 47 is an active group, meeting weekly year round. We consist of approximately 70 Boy Scouts aged 13-17, and their supportive families. The Scouts plan 10-11 outings yearly, typically featuring outdoor camping and various degrees of High Adventure to thrill and challenge boys of all ages.

We focus on Rank advancement, and learning new experiences though merit badges and outings.

One unique aspect about us is that we love to cook. Lots of cast iron, grill top, and campfire cooking means great food to fuel our adventures. We also believe in Scouts taking initiative and making meal plans for their individual patrols, and cooking their own meals. The Scouts get to decide on which meals they want to eat and get to make them by the method of their choosing!
