Spelling City

I think this is a little gem and I wanted to share it!http://www.spellingcity.com/

Teachers can register for free and upload their spelling lists to the site. They can then share their unique homepage url with their students, parents etc and the students can access their own list, play a range of free games and even complete a spelling test with immediate feedback!

A great thing is that if multiple teachers are using the same lists, all the pupils can access the one list, eg myself and the other 5th class teacher take turns uploading the lists for our book and the Support teacher can also access them if she wants to focus on a child's spellings, during their one-to-one sessions.

Alternatively, if another teacher has already uploaded your spelling lists you can import them to your lists, saving you time.

For example, if you or somebody you know is doing Spellbound 5, you/they could access our class lists here:http://www.spellingcity.com/Rang5/ and then import them to your own home page when registered.

Anybody doing the Single Word Spelling Tests Lists?? If so they have already been uploaded by a number of teachers, including Karen Saunders from Australia: https://www.spellingcity.com/KASaunders/

There is a premium membership available, but I haven't used it as currently the free activities are more than enough for me. The only disadvantage is that is hard to find relevant lists to import eg so far I haven't managed to locate the remaining lists for the Spellbound 5, so we will have to import them all manually for this year (unless of course somebody out there has already got it done and can send me their homepage url??!!).

Let me know what you think, and if you're already using it with your spelling book please let us know, so that it might save somebody else the tedious task of uploading the list(s).

PS Also apps available, (allowing you to download lists to your device for use offline) for Apple (free) and Android (paid)
