tentative SCHEDULE

for the Day of the Fair

*** The Piedmont Science Fair is on hiatus

until a new coordinator and location can be found.

If you would like to participate in another fair,

please contact the regional director for your county.

8:00 - 8:45 a.m. CHECK-IN AND SET-UP OF PROJECTS

Please arrive between these times and check in at the registration table. You will be given a project identification number and a time slot for the interview. Afterward you will be directed to the room to set up your project. Each table will be clearly marked with a corresponding identification number. You may view the other projects at this time too.

9:00 - 10:30 a.m. JUDGING INTERVIEWS

Judging will begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Only registered students will be permitted in the project rooms during the judging process. No parents or teachers are allowed during the judging process.

Students should arrive about 5 minutes before their interview time and wait outside the room where they have placed their project. Please do not enter the project room before this time to avoid distracting those presently interviewing. A volunteer will tell you when you may enter the room. Students may stand (or sit) by their project and wait for the judges to arrive for their interview. They may bring a book to read or another quiet activity to do while they wait for their interview.

All students will interview with the judge(s) during their predetermined time. The interviews are meant to be short and succinct (approximately 5-10 minutes). They should be able to describe their project to the judges and explain what they have learned.

When the students have completed their interview, they may exit the room (but leave their project) and enjoy the hands-on activities.
