PLEASE CLICK HERE TO RSVP (so we know who to look for!)

Details:

Sunday - 26 January

We’ll hike the Red rock canyon trail (link below) at Whiting Ranch, plus optional Billy Goat Trail (link below). Meet at the trailhead at 9:00 start hike at 9:05.

Red Rock Canyon is 4.5 miles out and back and very gentle/easy. It includes a tiny creek crossing (flowing water in OC!) and ends at a red sandstone canyon where the kids can climb around.

On the way back, those who like will branch off to add the billy goat trail. This one is more challenging - singletrack, rutted, and with a decent climb - but is *so* fun. Billy goat (and back down via mustard road) will add about 2 miles and 500ft climbing.

Bring/wear bug spray, pack 101 t-shirts, good shoes (esp. if you’re doing billy goat), lots to drink, and snacks.

Parking is 3$ but the lot is often full. If so, you can park in the lot across the street. We’ve always ended up parking there.

If it rains before the hike they may close the trail. If that happens, I have a backup plan!

I can’t wait to see you all there!
