Longhorsley Moor

With assistance from the Rivers Trust, we have been able to install a natural watering-hole on the North-West side of the Moor. This will provide the local wildlife with access to a safe and all-year-round source of water.

Archie’s Pond

The work to improve the path at Archie’s Pond has been delayed but is still planned for completion in the Autumn.

Conclusion of External Audit 2021/22

The signed-off annual audit documents have now been received back from our External Auditors, PKF Littlejohn. No concerns were raised and there were no matters arising from the audit review to bring to the Council’s attention.

Northumberland County Council – Reporting Issues via the Website

Did you know that lots of issues/problems which residents contact the parish council about can be reported directly to Northumberland County Council via its website on www.northumberland.gov.uk

At the bottom of the home page are a set of icons relating to “Top Tasks” covering: bin issues, planning applications, pothole problems, street light faults, dog waste problems, fly-tipping issues, empty grit bins, tree & shrub issues, and noise problems.

Every report is given a unique log number reference and will be sent to the relevant department to deal with the issue. Reporting problems directly to NCC will save time and resolve problems sooner.

Your County Councillor

We will be looking at a memorial to Her Majesty which will serve as a long time reminder of Queen Elizabeth. I am very keen to hear from everyone about what you feel would be the most appropriate way to remember and honour her memory. Trees, a new path, a sculpture - the choice is endless.

I am hoping we might place this on our website soon, and if you have any ideas do please get in touch with me.

Longhorsley Village Hall Warm Hub

It is being proposed that we set up the Village Hall as a ‘warm hub’ over the winter months. The idea is that with the rising costs of energy affecting everyone, it would be a help to give a warm and comforting place for people to meet up, to warm up, and have a hot drink and chat with friends and neighbours.

To set this up we would like to form a small committee to organise and arrange this hub and to help assist during its opening hours. This is on a purely voluntary basis and anyone is more than welcome to join and help out.

If you are interested in helping then please get in touch with Jan Chisholm and she will be happy to add you to her list of helpers and answer any queries you may have: 788151 or 07718 906358.
