Thanks and Can You Help? February 2022

Thanks

Iain Elliott

I have been overwhelmed by the cards of condolence, flowers and messages paying tribute to Iain for his many kindnesses and years of active service to the Longhorsley community as Chair of our Parish Council. His cancer progressed far more rapidly than expected in the last few weeks, until his untimely death on 29th December. However, in accordance with his wishes, he is now buried in the Old Church cemetery and we will hold a celebration of his life, in the village hall, when COVID restrictions ease.

My thanks to everyone for the support I have received at this difficult time.

Calendars

Many thanks to everyone who bought the 2022 Calendars or sent us photos. The total profit from sales which will be given to Village Hall funds is £102.50. Thanks also to the village shop and Joanne for displaying and selling them. We have a couple left so if anyone would still like to buy one give us a call.

Can You Help?

Citizens Advice Call for Volunteers

Last year, Citizens Advice Northumberland supported just under 20,000 people. They cannot help so many people without the support of volunteers.

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided, though basic IT skills (email, internet use) are required. As well as volunteers to offer advice to people in person, online or over the phone, there are opportunities for people to conduct research and campaign for change.

More details on their website or call 01670 339985.
