SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - They say in life you have to ask for what you want, and that's just what a Virginia boy suffering from epilepsy did when he needed a life-saving service dog.

Seven-year-old Evan Moss dreamed up an idea that was bigger than life. He suffers from epilepsy, and needed to come up with $13,000 to buy himself a service dog that will alert his parents when he has a life-threatening seizure.

So Evan wrote a book about the dog he needed, and the money and compassion came pouring in from across the country.

Sandy Storrie lives in Clairemont and when she saw Evan's story on News 8, she immediately picked up the phone and arranged to get the boy his own service dog free of charge.
